Our New Pet

My children (especially K) are always begging for pets. Due to J's allergies and my aversion to cleaning up after anything I haven't given birth to, we have to refuse them the furry-variety. We have had
Birds, before M was born: they were messier than children;
Fish: had to give them away before we moved;
and Tadpoles: both died before they even began metamorphosis.
So, we haven't had much luck with pets.
I have finally found a pet that is very clean, low maintenance, and nearly impossible to kill. We feed it once a week. And we can stick it off into a corner until we are ready to "play" with it.
Introducing the newest addition to the Glancy family:

Sadie the Sourdough Start.


She is wonderful with children and is so versatile we've made everything from bread, to waffles, to cake. Even J (who hates pets) is very excited when he's sees Sadie come out of her corner.
